The current development of the IAMP (International Advanced Manufacturing Park) is creating a huge range of opportunities in the sector. Our Warehousing and Manufacturing programme covers all aspects of the distribution and warehousing processes and includes Forklift Truck Operator’s Certificate and Health and Safety training. You will learn picking, assembling, processing and packaging, all of which provide you with the essential skills required for this rapidly expanding sector in the North East.
Our Warehousing course is delivered from our Pallion, Sunderland site.

Warehousing and Storage NVQ Level 1 (NCFE Accredited)
The funded Warehousing and Storage programmes we offer are ideally suited to people who wish to pursue a career within these sectors. We have a purpose-built warehouse where practical sessions take place. The units covered during the warehouse NVQ are as follows:

Unit 05 – Moving And Handling Goods Manually In Logistics Facilities
Unit 06 – Pick Goods In A Logistics Environment
Unit 08 – Operate Equipment To Perform Work Requirements In A Logistics Environment
Unit 09 - Use Equipment To Move Goods In Logistics Facilities
Counterbalance Forklift Truck
As part of the Warehousing and Storage programme you will undertake a Counterbalance Forklift Truck Course. This is a nationally recognised qualification which meets the appropriate criteria as specified by ITSSAR and HSE Approved Code of Practice (L117).
As an ITSSAR accredited training provider we register all our trainees who undertake accredited training onto the Trainer Operator Passport Scheme (TOPS). This is an ITSSAR mandatory database for all Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) and Workplace Transport Operators.
Each operative will be issued with a unique (TOPS) ID number which will remain with them for life. This number will be used forall additional catergories of machines.

When it comes to looking for a job there are a lot of things to think about, from deciding on the right job for you, to completing an application and getting ready for your interview. Our experienced tutors are on hand to help you get into work.
You will learn about your rights and entitlements at work, how to work in a team and also Health and Safety in the workplace.

Functional Skills
We offer Functional Skills Maths and English for those who don’t have the appropriate qualifications. You will be assessed prior to starting the course and you will be put into a class based on your ability. Our Functional Skills courses are only available for those enrolled onto one of our main study programmes.
Our Functional Skills Qualifications are intended for anyone wishing to develop their Maths and English skills. These qualifications focus on both the underpinning skills as well as the ability to apply Maths and English in different contexts.
Our Functional Skills qualifications are available across various levels.
